Brandie, the maker of Nail Hoot, is a lover of birds and has many as pets. I'm honestly surprised it's taken her this long to release a collection inspired by the beautiful colors of birds! I must admit, I am afraid of birds. I know, it seems silly. I tried to conquer my fear several years ago by going to a bird sanctuary and that went horribly. The birds were aggressive and attacking the cage trying to get to my face, and one of the birds bit my husband. But hey..I tried!!
Free as a Tanager is described as a dazzling fall orange containing UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in a beautiful combination of green, purple, yellow, and copper. Orange really isn't my thing, but throw some UCC flakies in, and how could you say no? Especially with Halloween/Fall approaching, this is the perfect polish! Does take some working to build up. Merry Magpie is described as a stunning deep purple filled to the brim with UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in a dizzying array of blue, pink, green, and copper. Rosefinch in the Garden is described as a pretty pink that is decorated with a generous amount of UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in a stunning mix of blue, gold, green, and purple. I would describe this as a "reddish pink" almost coral, it's beautiful! My swatches above show 2 coats with top coat.
Sing Like a Bluebird is described as a perfect fall blue with a vast array of UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in orange, pink, red, and gold. This is the perfect "muted" blue for fall! Good formula and application. My swatches above show 3 coats with top coat.
Turaco Me Crazy is described as a rich forest green packed with UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in a variety of orange, purple, and copper. Formula is good, and can be pulled off in 2 thick coats or if you prefer, 3 thin. My swatches show 2 thick coat with top coat.
Warbler Like You Mean is described as a pleasant yellow filled with UCC flakies, shimmer, and microflakies in purple, blue, green, and bronze. With the addition of the beautiful flakes, I can see myself actually wearing this polish. I know there's a lot of yellow haters out there, but trust me when I say this is beeeee-u-t-ful. Haunted Mansion is described as a stunning purple to black duochrome crelly with dashing orange and blue glitters and a pinch of scattered holo. Things that make you go UNNNFFFFFF. So pretty!! Great formula and application. My swatches above show 2 coats with top coat. Price $7.35.
